About
Sarah Blanche Blondes
I am a Franco-American designer based in Paris with extensive experience in footwear, handbag, and accessory design. My special strengths are sketching ability, 3D conceptualization, and creative problem-solving. I not only hand draw and digitize designs but am a maker with experience developing products from concept through production.
After graduating with honors from Parsons, NY in 2015, I joined Maje (Group SMCP) as their footwear designer, working directly with company founder and art director Judith Milgrom. An enthusiastic collaborator, I enjoyed working in concert with the accessories and RTW teams on seasonal collections.
During my 5 years at Maje, annual SKUs across categories (sandals, flats, boots, evening, sneakers) increased from 7 to 40+.
My training at Parsons School of Design, NY and Central Saint Martins, London taught me to reconcile the beauty of innovative design with consumer trends and marketing objectives.
As senior footwear designer, I guided the production team and developed close working relationships with factories throughout Europe and Asia. Comfort and fit were consistently prioritized in the development of signature lasts and shapes.
A desire for change and fresh challenges led to an ongoing design collaboration with
Azur, a Marseilles-based conceptual clothing brand that challenges traditions with a modern and artistic approach to craftsmanship. It all began sewing a bag from their RTW fabric scraps. An opportunity to create handbags made locally of vintage and organic fair trade fabrics dyed with plants was a natural next stage of my design journey.
While my penchant for detail, love of beautiful yet functional design, appreciation for durable, quality materials, and close observation of people and their habits led me to fashion design, my love of aesthetics and creating with my hands is a lifelong passion.
This facility sparked my exploration of ceramics. Recently, I collaborated with Parisian jewelry brand LAH on hand-sculpted ceramic displays and dishes inspired by their designs. I am also working with a NY fine jewelry designer on customized ceramics pieces.
I welcome the chance to dream up product designs for your brand and help you put an efficient production plan in place!
